Raphael Bear, Member (Yavapai) – Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation

During his term as President of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation from 2004-2008, his influence was crucial in the development of the 246 room Radisson Hotel, The Fort McDowell Strategic Plan, the Yavapai Indian Foundation (501 c3) and most proud of having his young adults achieve the rate of 90% high school graduation in 2007 school year among other accomplishments. Other work experience includes Construction Project Manager for the Small Reclamation Loan, Recreation Center renovation, Wassaja Clinic, over 150 tribal homes and infrastructure. He served on the planning board, farm board, environmental board, economic development board and other boards within tribal government. He has also served as the General Manager of the tribal government for four years. He is currently the Eagle View RV Resort manager a 150-space RV resort on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation a part of the Destination at Fort McDowell. He also sits on the Tourism Advisory Committee as appointed by former Arizona State Governor Janet Napolitano. Other positions include the Arizona Inter-Tribal Council Chairman and member of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association. He is a current new member to Arizona ARVC since October 2010. Raphael was a leader dealing with policy in economic development, education and housing among others. He is married with two daughters both now married with one grandson one granddaughter. He is currently raising his nephews Moses and Shea Stiffarm.
