Zach Doka – Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation

In 2013, I was hired as an intern with the Fort McDowell Career Development
Program where I was placed in various capacities within the tribal government. It
was in this time that I was presented the opportunity to work alongside the
tribe’s Tourism & Events Department. In 2017, I received my Bachelor of Science
degree in American Indian Studies from Arizona State University and in 2019, I
was hired on as a full-time employee with the Fort McDowell Tourism & Events
Department.
Over the last several years, I have been involved with organizations and
committees such as the Arizona American Indian Tourism Association (AAITA),
American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) and our local Fort
McDowell Destination board. My journey has introduced me to many people and
taken me new places.
My goal is to continue to stand out as a unique market in the tourism industry as
Arizona’s aboriginal people and welcome visitors alike to experience all that the
tribal communities of Arizona have to offer.
