Rebecca Thomas proudly serves as Vice President on the AAITA Board, bringing a deep passion for destination storytelling, community engagement, and Indigenous tourism to her leadership role. Through her role with AAITA, Rebecca is committed to advancing Indigenous tourism across Arizona by fostering collaboration, amplifying Native voices, celebrating cultural heritage, and helping Native destinations thrive.
Rebecca is an enrolled member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and is also Mvskoke, Yuchi, Shawnee and Navajo.
A results-driven communications and operations professional, Rebecca brings more than a decade of experience spanning tribal government, aviation, hospitality, events, and customer service. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University and an associate’s degree in business from Scottsdale Community College. Her career reflects a strong foundation in public policy, project management, community engagement, and client relations, with a consistent focus on service, accountability, and strategic execution.
Working as a Public Relations Specialist for Discover Salt River, Rebecca focuses on elevating Salt River as a vibrant, welcoming destination through strategic communications and media relations. She is deeply passionate about community-building, cultural preservation, and fostering spaces where people feel seen.
In her free time, she’s usually on an adventure with her family.
